A major structural steel fabrication shop required a centralized fume extraction network for 24 simultaneous MIG/TIG welding bays to capture hazardous hexavalent chromium and manganese welding fumes at source.
Engineering Solution Delivered
ADFC installed a centralized high-vacuum fume collection unit equipped with PTFE-membrane cartridge filters rated at 99.97% efficiency @ 0.3 microns. 24 self-supporting 4-metre extraction arms with integrated LED hoods were mounted across all welding stations, powered by energy-efficient VFD centrifugal exhaust fans.
Australian Dust & Fume Control was contracted to design, engineer, and install a custom system for this project located in Kwinana, WA.
